We're having a party!

After a morning of phone battle over mis-processed claims with VPI pet insurance (far better than dealing with human insurance by the way), i'm moving on to better things--news about a big event we have been planning, and one I hope everyone in the New York area will be able to make it to!

It's the Lucky Dog Party Saturday December 13th from 1-7pm at 529 W. 20th street, 10th FL
That's far west between 10th & 11th Ave in the midst of all the Chelsea art galleries, so here's an idea: Make an afternoon of it and drop in at the party and then move on to a few galleries in the area weather permitting. Since I can't attach the J-Peg Invite here to the blog, and if you aren't reading this because you already got that e-mailed to you, just e-mail me and i'll make sure you get the invite as well. But here's an idea of what we've got planned:

Some amazing independent local pet boutiques will be on site selling their unique products (think stocking stuffers and little token gifts that you'd have to travel all over New York in order to track down and instead they'll all be in this one place!)

PS9 Pets in Williamsburg is one boutique that will be on site, and for those that rarely make it to Williamsburg, i have to tell you that this is one of the BEST boutique's I know of run by the coolest woman with the greatest personal style which she carries over into her store and the products she chooses. You really can't stop in without seeing something you adore and that you haven't seen anywhere else... and for the right price, so i'm really excited to see what they will bring to Chelsea on the 13th!

A brand new pet treat bakery will be there too....Brooklyn Dog Bites. They are currently working on their website, so this is the only place you'll be able to buy their products for the time being. Some Nathan has tried in the past are pizza slices, little "ice cream" cone treats and lolly "pups". That was in the summer and I know that partners Ardon Goll & Heather Scharf, are creating new treats just for this event so I can't wait to check them out and let Nathan try any samples they may have on hand.

A wonderful dog trainer & groomer, Ivan of Ivan's Stars has an extremely hectic schedule and is taking the time to come to the event as well. When you meet this man, you feel like you're meeting the dog whisperer, i swear! He's THAT zen and cool with dogs and comes only to you by word of mouth, so you will HAVE to come just to meet him and pick up some free tips, as he'll be giving a dog & human behavior demonstration at 2:30pm.

A pet portrait artist, Matt Rosenquist of Brooklyn, will be sketching on the spot (for a fee). His quick, detailed drawings will amaze you and will seriously be a perfect gift for someone...or maybe just for you. Let's just hope the dogs will sit still long enough to be sketched!

And best of all...there will be a doggy runway show!!! So please come and dress up your dog and be a part of it! Come early enough to make sure you get in because space for entrants is limited. What we're looking for is for you to dress up your dog any way you want to...this can be the latest dog fashions, holiday style costumes, cute costumes like maybe you would for halloween dog parades, etc.. Contestants will be judged and top prize is a really good one!

Please invite anyone you think would be interested, bring kids...there will be drinks for all and even Nathan's hotdogs available too!

More to come, so check back again next week! Thanks
