One more for the day...

I don't want to swallow up my last blog, but wanted to write an update on not just the party, but on Nathan too! This week marks only eights weeks since his surgery. He was still recovering in the hospital only eight weeks ago and the Lucky Dog Party wasn't even in my head at that time as I wasn't so convinced that he was a lucky dog...and also, when you go through this kind of thing the thought of how you will pay for it just is not a factor....you just want your pet to live! He is still recovering, but almost has completed that period as the doctor who operated on him said it would take 8-10 weeks for the full recovery. He didn't attend his own party because he is one hyper Dachshund! He wouldn't have been able to sit still and I was busy enough as it was that afternoon to have to keep an eye on him or hold him as well for hours at a time. He still rests more than he used to which is a good thing. I'm going to start putting vitamin supplements on his food again to support his joints as his legs are still weak. He's coming back though and is clearly healing very well. With more Physical therapy here at home, supplements and rest I am convinced he'll back able to walk, run and play just like he used to come January.
