While I haven't found full time employment in the last 6 months, I must admit that it's been a blessing to be able to be home to care for Nathan at this time. I guess many vacation days or an understanding boss would have been my alternative as he's needed to be administered medication every 4-6 hours for the past two weeks. I've also needed to sort through all the bills and keep track of submissions and follow ups with the pet insurance company I have.
This is key by the way...if you have a pet, PLEASE do yourself a favor and buy pet insurance. The total costs for Nathan thus far are $9,000 roughly and while vet care would not be provided without payment in full and upfront, I am now anxiously awaiting half back sometime in December.
Speaking of fundraising, I am also in the middle of planning an event that those living in New York can attend! It'll be a holiday shopping event for pet lovers at a Chelsea photo studio. There will be a pet protrait photographer on hand, a pet fashion show, vendors selling pet bakery treats, clothing, bedding and more. If you know anyone who owns a pet boutique, a dog trainer, or anyone that may be interested in participating, please have them contact me. The date for this to be held will be Dec. 13th (A Saturday afternoon event). I'll post more details and sponsor information soon!
